What Does an HWID Spoofer Actually Do?
Closed thread Closed by archiveCan someone explain HWID spoofers in normal language?
I see them mentioned on gaming cheat websites, but I want to understand what they actually do.
From what I've gathered, HWID stands for Hardware ID, but I'm unclear about what a spoofer changes and what it doesn't.
Does it affect your actual hardware, your Windows installation, your gaming account, or something else?
Also, does using one automatically remove an existing game ban? That part seems questionable.

Replies are closedHWID means hardware identifier. An HWID spoofer is generally intended to change or mask identifiers reported to certain software.
So it doesn't physically change your motherboard or SSD?
No. It's not physically replacing anything in your computer.
And no, don't assume it reverses an account ban. Those are separate things.
Exactly. An account sanction is handled by the game platform. Changing a reported hardware identifier isn't the same as getting a ban overturned.
Finally, an explanation that doesn't make it sound like magic software lol.
